Deadmen Join This American Life as ongoing composers, Contributing 20 Original Cues

One of deadmen’s ongoing 2025–26 projects has been composing for This American Life: the Ira Glass–hosted series produced with WBEZ Chicago and distributed by PRX, which reaches more than 3 million weekly listeners via podcast and 500+ public radio stations. The program’s accolades include multiple Peabody Awards and the first Pulitzer Prize ever awarded to a radio show/podcast for audio journalism.

Deadmen have created 20 original compositions for the series to date, with their music appearing throughout episodes as emotional connective tissue, a scoring role the duo describes as a privilege, particularly as public-interest reporting faces renewed pressure and higher stakes.
