Deadmen Score New CBC/Radio-Canada Series Malgré Moi
The series’ score is the latest in a run of new composition work from Deadmen, whose recent credits also include Apple’s new iPhone spot, LEGO’s “Hello!” campaign, new records for Begonia and Ashleigh Ball, and a substantial body of music for This American Life.

Apple’s “A Critter Carol” will roll out globally across broadcast TV, digital platforms and social media. In the U.S., a cut-down version of the spot will air on TV starting with NBC’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade coverage. The adorable little music video features music direction from deadmen + Daniel Ellsworth. A collaboration with Flight of the Concords.

Fantasy Life is releasing on October 24, and according to the Winnipeg singer-songwriter, the album features a blend of pop sensibility, playfulness, and introspection. She wrote the record in Los Angeles alongside her long-time collaborators deadmen, a duo formed by Matt Peters and Matt Schellenberg. deadmen have created 20 original compositions for the series to date, with their music appearing throughout episodes as emotional connective tissue, a scoring role the duo describes as a privilege, particularly as public-interest reporting faces renewed pressure and higher stakes.
